House Democratic leaders, pledging to meet the president's goal of health care legislation before their August break, are offering a $1.5 trillion plan that for the first time would make health care a right and a responsibility for all Americans. Left to pick up most of the tab were medical providers, employers and the wealthy.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Fair And Balanced</foaf:name><yedda:age>29</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/149230719605656/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000026133/8cbce459e025568.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>question</yedda:type></yedda:post>

RE: $1 Trillion House Bill Would Make Health Care a 'Right' - But Is It?

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Dawg</foaf:name><yedda:age>15</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/8629464761717/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/1_Trillion_House_Health_Care_Right_186036394831162/1_Trillion_House_Health_Care_Right_186036394831162" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: $1 Trillion House Bill Would Make Health Care a 'Right' - But Is It?

The most ominous signal yet for the Obama health care plan emerged in the poll by Scott Rasmussen released today. While public support for the plan fell to a new low (42% support, 53% oppose — down five points in two weeks), the elderly emerged as the strongest opposition group. Those over 65 rejected the plan by 39-56 while almost half — 46% — said they were “strongly opposed” to it.
The group that supports the plan most strongly is those likely to be least affected, voters under the age of thirty, 67% of whom support the proposals.

From my point of view the applause given these people said differently. It amazes me how out of touch these professional politicians are when it comes to what the people want and then to stand in front of his constituents and talk as though he had read the legislation was insulting (reason for term limits). Many of the folks at the town meeting collectively knew more about the legislation than he did. He even stated" I’m impressed with the fact that people have been very well prepared." He also stated they were vocal, but forgot to say they were very well informed, more than he. It also demonstrated he was not there to listen but to pontificate his thoughts and that of the party line.

In a venue I would have held, I would have listened and then asked how many folks agreed with what was said by the presenter. That would have given me a feel of what the people there wanted. Being paid by them to represent them is why I must listen to them.

By the way if I was making around $175,000 a year I guess I could choose any health care plan I want. However most people don’t make that kind of money and are stuck with what is afforded them concerning health care and should be their decision whether they want it or not. If I go to Vegas and gamble my money away and then need money to live on there is no program whereby my employer must pay insurance so I can collect money to live on. In life people must make responsible decisions and then live by them. We all mess up occasionally then you must suck it up and move on. I have no sympathy for stupid or lazy people of which there are many and are enabled by our government programs. IRRITATION IS THE CATALYST FOR THE PROGRESSION OF LIFE. If there is no irritation there is no movement. So why put people in that position, votes probably.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Alive</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>72</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/5186118718966/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/1_Trillion_House_Health_Care_Right_186036394831162/ominous_signal_Obama_health_care_735321167133301" /><yedda:rating>4.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: $1 Trillion House Bill Would Make Health Care a 'Right' - But Is It?

It's the biggest scam every portrayed on America

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>American Patriot</foaf:name><foaf:gender>female</foaf:gender><yedda:age>29</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/7356031268190/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/1_Trillion_House_Health_Care_Right_186036394831162/495568637264115" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>
