Her first litter, two females now 3 months are still with us. (we are now looking for good homes for them) Boo, who was a wonderful first time mom and a loving and affectionate cat now growls and hisses at us and is very aggressive to her older litter. She attacks them whenever she sees them. She has also tried to bite me when I tried to pet her. Is this a normal reaction for a pregnant cat? she didn't do this with her first pregnancy.. and will she return to normal after having this new litter?

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Eve Vallorani</foaf:name><yedda:age>49</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/8621069731917/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>question</yedda:type></yedda:post>

RE: Aggressive pregnant cat to first litter and our family

Sounds like this is a very young cat who got pregnant way too early. My only offer is that she knows she is pregnant and is doing everything she can do to "drive out" her previous kittens who should be on their own and gone out of her territory by now and could pose a problem to the ones she is going to have. It seems like she is being way too protective and doesn't want your interacting with her. She could also be having a medical problem getting pregnant immediately without skipping a heat cycle. When I was breeding dogs I always skipped a heat cycle to allow the female to recover. Please have her checked out by your vet. Hope things get better for you soon.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Patsy127</foaf:name><yedda:age>64</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/3506871710814/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Aggressive_pregnant_cat_litter_350828341248694/Aggressive_pregnant_cat_litter_350828341248694" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: Aggressive pregnant cat to first litter and our family

hi
