Finnish school shooting! What are your thoughts?

Finnish teen gunman is dead, Finnish police say. Eight people, including headmistress, shot at Finnish school, say police. Firearm bought legally last month, shooting began in school's lower lobby. Shooting appeared to have been planned in series of YouTube videos.

What are your thoughts? Do you think American culture is now beginning to affect other counties' youth? Or do you think it's the internet influence?

I think it has to do with the failure of communicating with children and young people. People don´t know what could be bothering a child or teenager, if they don´t talk to them. There are some many signs given by a troubled young mind and adults fail to identify what´s bothering them and follow up on it.

It's hard for me to admit the shooting people can be a trend that sprouted from TV and movies and that this can be a cultural phenomenon. But I do think that a lot of those shootings are connected in a sort of trend forming manner.

I don't think that TV or utube are to blame, but I do think that sadly, this is becoming one of the way that emotionally disturbed teenagers choose as a way to express their frustration. Sort of the next step after anorexia, cutting or suicide attempt.
