I dated a christian who is very active in church.He is 60yrs.old and i'm 63....he said he loved me and proposed marriage...I told him i would not be intimate with him till we were married .... he dumped me a few days later and gave me several lame excuses. He said i am a wonderful woman and treated him better that any lady ever has...I feel i was dumped for abstaining from intimacy. Am i wrong to respect myself and my future husband even if it's not this man?..Am i out of touch with the times?....I have been divorced for 18 yrs.

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO A WONDERFUL FRIEND OF MINE, TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY SEX THIS LATE IN LIFE IS THE BEST AND SINCE HE COULD WAIT UNTIL MARRIAGE THAT WAS ALL HE WAS LOOKING FOR, SO YOU DID THE RIGHT THING. HE WILL BE THE ONE TO MISS OUT ON SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY SPECIAL.

Mack gave you a very good answer (welcome to Yedda Mack, gave you 2 thumbs up). I would like to add: I wish I could talk to that man and find out how does he explains the situation..... Very often it's totally different from what the other side see it. You behaved perfectly (having your morals and values and keeping them shows much about you !) and if he dumped you only for that than you know what kind of person he is and G-d saved you from that man (all he needed is sex). I have a hunch that that is NOT the case (sorry). Please, I have no dout in what you wrote (it's 100% correct) but you can't know what were his real deep reasons. If you still want him better have a deep open discussion with him in an attempt to understant what were his REAL reasons.

sweet --- If he truly loved you and not what you could give him he would not have left. Love does not work that way. Lucky you that he left before the wedding. Keep the morals on a high level; they are very becomming to a lady. Not enough women respect themselves enough to abstain. Hold out for Mr. Right!!! God will send him your way if that is HIS way. --- C1

Hey dear- you are so alright. Why would you even consider sinning with this man. God is saving you for a much better relationship with marriage as a beginning.
