She said use shortening and corn starch. I will admit it did work for 1 of my babys. My other baby it just makes it work. Is there any other advice you could give me. I've tried everyone of the store products and the babys rash is bad. Thank You!

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>kristine</foaf:name><yedda:age>29</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/518916283217668/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>question</yedda:type></yedda:post>

RE: Getting Rid of babys diaper rash

have you asked your baby dr? It may be some sort of rash that is related to a food allergy. Maybe the baby needs an anti-biotic.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>carol</foaf:name><yedda:age>27</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/4957123166411/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Getting_Rid_babys_diaper_rash_186135082881922/Getting_Rid_babys_diaper_rash_186135082881922" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: Getting Rid of babys diaper rash

Shortening and corn starch are not so good as they may worsen the rash if it is caused by yeast infection. The best way is to apply a vaseline based antiseptic cream such as Drapolene for prevention and treatment.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>domii</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>40</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/951570981604381/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000029478/8cc1fc28f7a932e.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Getting_Rid_babys_diaper_rash_186135082881922/asked_baby_dr_sort_rash_related_149136019249755" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: Getting Rid of babys diaper rash

If topical ointments (such as A & D) don't work, you may want to ask your pediatrician.

Other than that, one of the best cures for diaper rash is air. Let the baby go bare bottomed as much as possible (place waterproof pads underneath the baby when s/he is on something difficult to clean).

You can also try using a blow dryer. Turn it to the lowest possible setting and aim it so that the air current blows across the baby's skin, not directly at it. Be sure not to let the dryer come in contact with the baby (and limit the use time) so as to prevent burning baby's tender skin.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>jkgrandma</foaf:name><foaf:gender>female</foaf:gender><yedda:age>54</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/8621166651217/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000020264/8cc6b87ecd02be0.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Getting_Rid_babys_diaper_rash_186135082881922/Shortening_corn_starch_worsen_rash_627761854376535" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: Getting Rid of babys diaper rash

When my baby got diaper rash i would simply take her diaper off during the night.
