Glued pictures

I have an old photo album which is falling apart and am trying to get the pictures out. It's the old black paper and my mom glued all of the pictures in. Some of the pictures are ripping as I try to get them off the paper. Is there any way I can get the pictures out without ripping them. I tried putting one in the freezer because I do that with wax but to no avail. Help! These are old pictures that I can't destroy. arizonacatlady6@aol.com

Thanks so much for your reply. Unfortunately I can't cut the pictures out because both sides of the page has pictures. I'm just so frustrated!

As you suggested, I guess I can make copies of the pictures, although I really wanted the original picture in my album...I've thought of using steam to release the picture from the paper...has anyone every tried that? But if I don't find an answer I'll just have photocopies made of them and keep the pictures intact on the pages...Doris
