I do know they change from company to company. But my friend who does it for a large bank looks into employee complaints and writes up the findings then turns it over to a lawyer. They want information they don't have time to look for because of the higher wages they get so they can act like a paralegal. Other companys only want the basic information and the lawyers do all the work. This is just a small part of her job. She does work with the state labor agencies on complaints and that is done with out lawyers. I know I'm not getting it all but this is just one persons job that I know about. She really knows California law and what a company can do and not do.

Hi Pravin,
I read recently a book (some 400 pages) dealing exactly with that topic. In short it says that HR is responsible to the organization culture and to each person to feel as a partner who is ready to do his / her very best to the sucess of the organization. I think it that says it all.
