It is unusual that women would get such a side effect during hysterectomy (a very common and safe procedure), but it could happen. Anytime you get a heart attack, yes, some damage is left on the heart tissue. How bad a damage, depends on how big a heart attack you got (some are small, medium or severe). But most heart attacks do not happen during surgery or in the hospitals. They happen outside, at home or at work.
