Needs Help, What Should she Do?

You're physically ill, have been mostly in bed for over 2 years, if go anywhere to doctor's office or hospital, depressed, refinanced house for $600,00.00 about to go into foreclosure, have $20.00, house is hugh lot of clutter, lot of dust, 3 adult children refused since 2004 to help her get the house ready to sell, have 4 weeks of garbage in house now that this person is broke no one calls or comes by or offers any help, to sick to be going up and down stairs to sell things, if have to leave house have no where to go, car is not working, not sure why children say they love her, and they probably do just don't want to be bothered with helping her in any way, so what should she do? There is absolutely no one who will help her. Does not want the state in her business.She feels like everyone is waiting for her to die so they can no longer be bothered or worse, put in a state run rest home, so they can sell off everything she owns and take what they don't sell. She has asked her church for help, said they would help, but didn't. No money to pay bills and her ex. husband forced her to divorce in a non-alimony state because he is whealty and does not want to pay any alimony or anything else. I don't know what to tell her. Any suggestions?

Sylvia, is this a friend of yours? Or is it you?

Without knowing your specific location, I can only suggest that you do an online search for 'North Carolina services for seniors.'

There are a lot of listings which come up and I am sure one or two of them would be able to help, or point you towards someone who could.

Failing that, you might try contacting local churches (whether your denomination or not) for help; you could also try local high schools or colleges (many students have to complete volunteer hours in order to graduate).
