(We are great tenants!) Our neighbors have a garden planted next to our property dividing fence - this garden has several quaking pine trees (with tons of runners) and a HUGE overgrowth of ground cover that has swallowed the fence and is pulling the top of it inward toward their property while pushing it out at the bottom of ours. It has also left a huge hole in one part of the fence. We have asked him to remove the overgrowth and repair the fence as it is making our yard appear very shabby and unkempt but he will not. What can we do?

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Terri</foaf:name><foaf:gender>female</foaf:gender><yedda:age>38</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/3506701316574/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000020711/8cba6f5410e25f2.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>question</yedda:type></yedda:post>

RE: Neighbors garden ruining our yard

In this case, I think you are limited to asking your landlord to take action: technically, it isn't your fence even if you built it. Your landlord should ask him once, give him a reasonable time to comply, then send him a certified demand letter. If he doesn't respond to the letter, it's time to take him to court. Unfortunately, I don't you have the right to do any of these things yourself.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>tyrebitre</foaf:name><yedda:age>62</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/5041029610959/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Neighbors_garden_ruining_yard_5187149819772/Neighbors_garden_ruining_yard_5187149819772" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: Neighbors garden ruining our yard

Or you could just shoot him and bury him in his own garden; bit radical though.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>tyrebitre</foaf:name><yedda:age>62</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/5041029610959/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Neighbors_garden_ruining_yard_5187149819772/case_think_limited_asking_landlord_273183731010957" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: Neighbors garden ruining our yard

We have already thought of burying him in the garden.
