Oral Surgeon Punctures Sinus Cavity above left side upper molar (14).

Please help me! I am a retired senior citizen, who developed an infection deep into an upper molar (14?)A huge puss sack had burst, and in an emergency molar removal, the oral surgeon perforated my left side sinus cavity and infection fluid and other "bacteria" entered the area. I have completed ten go-arounds of antibiotic. The night of the surgery, I swish water in my mouth very gently and I hear this pressure, sucking sound and water comes out of my nostril on the left side. It's been a year and two months I have been swollowing horrible, sticky, whitish, stringy, mucous, pus whatever, and it clogs my sinuses up and ears so bad, I think it's taking down my ear drums, and then my eyes have a pressure pulsating sensation. It was only one side, in the membrane above my left-side molars. The root of the molar was infected to the jaw bone, and he removed the tooth and let the hole in the sinus go without flushing, any kind of preventative action or maintenance. My eyes are now itching and sticky in the morning. I know this is Oregon but I've never had any allergy reaction in my life unless it was certain types of dust etc. It's something that I've never experienced before. The sinuses above both eyes ache so much and it's a piercing pain that puts me to my knees. Three years ago I had an ingrown toe nail turn into a staff infection. They had to do surgery to remove about a 1/4 of my big toe, because the staff had grown onto the bone. If this turns into that type of infection, I will die and soon. Please help me, because my doctors are getting impatient and just telling me, "Oh, that's Oregon for you, allergies the year 'round etc" Baloney, I am so sick and pale, with my balance being effected. I am so sick, and how can I have the oral surgeon be responsible and take action to help me. I just need help to save my life.

Hi Walt, I am so sorry you are having these problems. Get yourself over to a good ear nose and throat doctor. This type of doctor should be able to figure out exactly what is wrong, and fix it for you. I don't think you will get the oral surgeon to take responsibility. Talk to an attorney and see what your options are. I had oral surgery 3 years ago for an impacted wisdom tooth. Since then I have pain 24 hours a day in part of my lower lip and chin. It feels like I have a fat lip all day, and it really hurts in the evening, from talking, eating, and movement of my mouth. A specialist wanted to crack my jaw open to see if he could do a nerve repair, but I said no. The odds of it working weren't that great. My surgeon told me my problem should go away in 6 to 9 months. I think he meant 6 to 9 years. Anyway, I got off track here. Please get yourself to that specialist as soon as possible. You have suffered way too much the way it is. Don't wait any longer. Don't let anymore doctors just blow you off about Oregon and allergies again. Put your foot down and demand to be fully checked out, tests and all. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, you know. I wish the best of everything for you. Please comment here again and let me know how things turned out.
