(My antenna is at least 15 yrs old.) When i installed the digital converter box on the tv on the main floor, the signal is distorted and the sound is fuzzy, even though an amp is hooked to the back of the tv. I just hooked the run of coaxial to the basement up to the outside antenna using a splitter off the antenna into the main floor and the basement. i am getting no signal at all into the basement!. When I hooked the amp to the coaxial out of the antenna before the splitter, there is no signal coming in even on the main floor. PS. Prior to installing the converter box, the analog signal was coming in great on the main floor (I never had the basement hooked up before now to know what the analog signal was like.)</p>

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>lois</foaf:name><yedda:age>38</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/2735316098185/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>question</yedda:type></yedda:post>

RE: Outside antenna signal clarity

<p>In reality, any "Antenna" should deliver a Signal to Ur box IF (BIG IF) Ur Coax, twin lead etc. is in good shape. Use an "Ohm Meter" to test for continuity by shorting one end of the wires together & connecting the Meter to the other end. If it shows "Short" then seperate the 2 wires & the "Short" should be gone. Ur cable should be good. Check that the wires to Antenna Terminals are good & then hook the other end to Ur "Converter Box". Ck. the cable between the TV & Converter Box in the same fashion. If good, tie the "Converter Box to the TV & turn both on. Have the "Converter Box" "Scan for Channels" per the "Instruction Book". This should give U channels & is about all U can do. John</p>

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Moosemose</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>59</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/4951630160211/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Outside_antenna_signal_clarity_4954898172661/Outside_antenna_signal_clarity_4954898172661" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>
