On two occassons lately, I have had the most delicious salad and on top of the greens is a poached egg. The egg is shaped like a tear drop ( pear shape) - it has a round bottom and then it comes to a bit of a point on top, like a stem. It is in the center of the greens and when one brakes into it - it adds the most awesome flavor to the salad. My question - how do they get the egg that way? It is not the usual shape of a poached egg. I would love a recipe for the salad and also info as to how to make the unusually shaped poached egg.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>klmccann</foaf:name><foaf:gender>female</foaf:gender><yedda:age>72</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/4953977155181/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>question</yedda:type></yedda:post>

RE: Poached egg shaped like a pear

Eggs are poached by dropping a raw egg into a small metal container that is then put into the poacher. You would have to go to a specialized kitchenware store and ask for a pear-shaped or tear-shaped metal container.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>brosen</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>77</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/2739815409154/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000004543/8ca0bab1f11292c.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Poached_egg_shaped_pear_stain_5041450517895/Poached_egg_shaped_pear_stain_5041450517895" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: Poached egg shaped like a pear

Many thanks.
