Why???????

If it is my understanding, Yedda is a site where people help people and give their individual opinion to questions asked. Why do people harass others for giving their opinions?

Why would anyone follow responders around on Yedda and call them names because they gave an honest opinion?

There is a way to debate a person's answer without getting down and dirty and calling names and using profaned language.

Is this the way that Americans now respond to controversial subjects by name calling and harassment? Are we children or are we adults? How do we expect our kids to be able to cope with controversy when we cannot cope? What message are we sending to our youth?

It is very disturbing to have someone go into our profile and comment on every question that we have answered and harass us by calling us names.

Should we report this kind of harassment to Yedda?

Tippy, yeah, you should probably report it. A lot of us have been trying to get along better lately, but not everybody I guess. You would think that people that can read and write and use a computer could find something better to with their time, but I guess they can't.

They need to go to one of those sites like AOL where that type of behavior is expected, if not welcomed with open arms.

Or, you could go to youtube.com and search for "profitbob". Choose the song Defiance and post it to your stalker everytime you see them. They'll get the message. There are two versions, one features a Yedda tee shirt, the other one, the acoustic version, is easier to understand over the music.

Tipsy, How are they harassing you? Are they calling you? Sending you letters or are you talking about comments made to your questions here on Yedda? I have read a lot of replies to your questions, and have answered a couple, but have not seen where you are treated any different from the others that disagree with one another. We all have our own personalities, opinions and our way of saying things that may sound harsh and never was intented to sound that way. If someone is doing something that you really find vulgar and offense then please report it and be able to back it up.Noone has the right to be down right evil to someone else.

My mistake. Should have looked up her post. Had 4 calls waiting to get back to and trying to find a vet to fix my puppy for the rest of his life had me a bit annoyed I guess.. See, instead to assuming I meant to hurt her feelings or call her something out of malice why didn't you presume it was an old woman with a lot on her mind for a monday morning?. That's the point we jump to conclusions. By the way, are you her guardian to feel insulted by something you thought I meant? I don't have my feelings hurt, I'm teed off. A Brown, I am her guardian if I feel like it. Yours too. I'm glad you got my point. It's a matter of perspective. Tippy is a very tolerant person, but she does have someone who follows her posts around and tries to harass her in many ways.

That this person is allowed to keep adding new accounts as the old ones are deleted is a problem, as they seem to spend hours of their time everyday focused on this pursuit. It is not a normal situation, and has put Tippy a little on edge.

That said, as Tippy poses in her question, this is a site to ask questions and receive help. Harassment is not very helpful, but seems to be more and more common as more partner sites feed questions to Yedda and more people find their way here. What started out as a fairly intellectual site several years ago has changed, and continues to change. One of those changes is that the writing has gotten coarser and the questions baser, if not down right obscene. Good discourse still goes on, but it more and more gets interupted by people who have nothing to add to the conversation but insults, slander and baseless attacks.

I once asked a similar question, though more narrowly focused on why these people think it is okay to act that way. One of the conclusions is that that is the way people are taught to resolve conflicts on television on daytime shows, by going over the top, not by being reasonable and airing both sides in a calm manner.

Thank you and all of my friends for their concern. I know that it is no secret to any of you that I am a Democrat and I voted for the President. Well this stalker found out that I voted for the President and have been following my responses to both Political and Religious questions and harassing me about my loyalty to America. He also questions my Christianity and a lot of other things.

There are others that post comments that are negative to my questions or answers and I don't mind, but not with this amount of hatred and intensity. It appears that he follows me around to post negative comments about me. I have posted below a few of the comments that this stalker has posted out here targeting me. There are others worst than this, but these are a few of the ones that I could easily find:

Southern, no one can reason with Tippy. She plays games, spreads bitterness wherever she goes, and has repeatedly proven herself 100% disloyal.
SHe has phony Obamite net sites but these net sites exist only to empower Obama bin Laden to wreck our homeland. No rational person buys Tippy's games.
She has been putting it around Yedda that I have been stalking and threatening her, then she puts on a "brave little smile" whenever she can gather yet another crowd to act out her hatred against America.
Typical atheist Obamites will always pose as Christins, misquote Scripture, and play games.
As Goliath cursed David by his gods, so have you cursed me by your god Obama. The thing is, Goliath perished by the hand of a humble shepherd boy, while your Goliath Obama is every bit as evil as the cult you hope to drive everyone down to.

Lim, I already explained my mistake in printing her name wrong. How many times does people have to say "I'm sorry" untill people quit beating a dead cat. I thought that was the only thing I needed to do at the time, but I guess people do want to keep holding hate in. Hi Tippy,

For me personally, I see it as harassment of those who are strong enough to disagree with the opinions of others. It doesn't seem to matter how respectfully one disagrees, or tries to stick to the facts. Many of the questions are designed to give a forum to a certain fringe group.

Some people seem very, very angry. I believe that the cause of their anger is exactly what they rail against in others. Many just have a strong sense of entitlement and are used to bullying their way through life. And they call others names that seem to fit themselves better.

I have found that it is not just on Yedda. It is all around us in the 'real' world. People are breaking into groups who are exclusive and abuse anyone who disagrees with them.

It is without a doubt a changing world we live in. A world where many people have stopped caring about others, even there own children and their parents....I am sure that sentence rings a bell with you.

On the bright side, it is also a world where Christians are speaking out and gaining courage and many are giving their lives to Christ and serving Him.

WHY are people not more cordial and able to debate without absing others? Satan is busy indeed.

The person stalking you is only one of my stalkers, I have several. Your stalker is the one who stole all of my thumbs up before they made changes to Yedda. The comments in this thread were from two of my other stalkers who I suspect is the same person.

Your stalker (D--g) is on Yedda 24/7 and 365 days. He is fairly young but Yedda is his full time job. No matter what time of day you sign on, he will be out here. You can depend on that. I closed my profile so that he could stop stalking me, but every chance he gets to answer one of my questions or responses he will jump at the chance just to insult me. He will do you the same way so get use to it.

There are several other Yeddites out here that he has attacked in the same fashion. As you stick around on Yedda for a little while you will find him out. If he cannot handle your responses, he will retaliate with insults and innuendos.

I have gotten use to it, so hang in there.

Etc Etc, thank you. Playing guitar is not an easy thing to do and only a maniac will suffer the pain it takes to make the calluses on your fingers, and the long tedious years of practice it takes to get good.

I really like writing songs, though, and that's why I learned the guitar. If you like them, keep checking my youtube listing in the future as I am trying to get all my songs recorded and posted on youtube. I usualy post one or two a week.
