The first, most complete, specimen was destroyed by bombing in world war 2 and is now thought to have been not fully grown.

Hence scientists have to estimate the overall size based on comparisons with similar dinosaurs. Obviously different estimates are possible, hence the confusion.&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator>Steve</dc:creator><foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Steve</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>36</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/518917693117662/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000032170/8cc206eadf4fc84.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Spinosauruss_Size_thrown_times_951187681858328/Spinosauruss_Size_thrown_times_951187681858328" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post><pubDate>Wed, 21 Oct 2009 14:15:01 GMT</pubDate><guid>http://yedda.com/questions/Spinosauruss_Size_thrown_times_951187681858328/Spinosaurus_fossils_complete_149531114584751?src=rss:qb:qbi</guid></item></channel></rss>
