The Federal Aviation Administration sets the wind speed standards for windsocks used at airports. All windsocks must withstand wind speed of up to 75 knots (or 86 mph). Windsocks must extend fully (perpendicular to the ground) at 15 knots (or 17 mph). &lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator>dripbydrip</dc:creator><foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>dripbydrip</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>40</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/1496151104505/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000006320/8cc16fdbdb00a08.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/Wind_socks_air_speed_9511747615861/Wind_socks_air_speed_9511747615861" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post><pubDate>Tue, 28 Apr 2009 07:43:51 GMT</pubDate><guid>http://yedda.com/questions/Wind_socks_air_speed_9511747615861/wind_speed_reach_3_knots_5_mph_951576241544380?src=rss:qb:qbi</guid></item></channel></rss>
