This statement also relates a single cause with a single effect [single cause – single effect relation]. Almost every human statement (scientific/philosophical/idiotic/ nonsensical) relates a single cause to a single effect.

3.Suppose that Mrs. Shiva happened to be a chain smoker and a good athlete. What would be the fate of her heart?
In this case, more than one cause (smoking and exercise) act in combination. Is there scientific method to predict the effect when more than one cause act in combination? Alas, one would say that there is multivariate analysis!

Every human logic fails predict the effect (outcome) when more than one cause act in combination. This is the source of every dilemma and confusion!!!

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Virgin Explorer</foaf:name><yedda:age>22</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/149634616141755/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000028569/8cc16220efe2c78.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>question</yedda:type></yedda:post>

RE: Is this the basis of dilemma?

I have never smoked, don't plan on smoking, and am proud to live in Minnesota where we have some of the strongest anti smoking laws.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>goldengopher</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>36</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/2731415347151/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000007652/8cc0be40bc7f982.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/basis_dilemma_science_mathematics_735048128339260/basis_dilemma_science_mathematics_735048128339260" /><yedda:rating>4.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: Is this the basis of dilemma?

Virgin explorer,

The larger the number of causes and the accuracy of the weight of each cause the more accurate the prediction of the probable outcome. This is a statistical method.
