Then by morning the battery is dead. Once I jump start it starts but may cut out while driving. I had the alternator replaced about 18 months ago and was recently checked. Help... am afraid to drive, cause I get stuck, and not always by the side of the road.. Any suggestions? Am short of money so its not so simple to merely bring it in to the shop for repair....</p>

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Bob</foaf:name><yedda:age>59</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/149839819550750/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>question</yedda:type></yedda:post>

RE: I havae a 1995 Lincoln Town car in pretty good ...

<p>THE problem (to me) sounds like your ignition switch is way out of sync. and i dont mean your key switch. if you drop your steering colom low enough that its in you lap, and look down the colum you will see a big flat switch attached to the colun with 2 5/16 '' nuts and a plug with lots of wires and. a metal rod that connects your key switch to this switch, (hence the need for fine tuning) put the car in nuetral, and try to start if it doesnt, loosen the 5/16''nuts and kinda push/pull on the switch(it slides) becareful when loosening those little nuts. they can pop offf and jump into the hole in the columin a flash(trust me). make sure you have a friend that can take you cusin em out cause the job sucks, sometimes its easier to replace the switch than it is to adjust, and everything 'FALLS" into place and directins come with it. i just cant stand spending cash when i dont have to . but i believe that is where your problem is </p>

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>paul</foaf:name><foaf:gender>male</foaf:gender><yedda:age>51</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/1495194182656/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/car_maintenance_auto_repair_627391562388373/car_maintenance_auto_repair_627391562388373" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>
