I need your help!!

My daughter just went off to live in Hawaii. She left me with her two cats while she got situated over there (I live in Glendale, Ca.), and she had planned to come back for them by the end of May. What I didn't realize is that I developed an allergy to cat hair and I can no longer keep them. My daughter cannot get back to the Mainland any earlier than May 31, so am I now forced to take them both to the Humane Society? Can I find someone who will take them into foster care for four or five weeks? One of the cats is 1 yr. old and the other is 3. Please advise.

Thanks,

Please don't take them to the Humane Society...they very likely would end up being put to sleep. I just wrote a contact of mine in Carlsbad. She may know someone who would take them briefly.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Jane</foaf:name><foaf:gender>female</foaf:gender><yedda:age>62</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/8628765851117/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000018105/8cb5c681c7eb30a.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/cats_7356221671178/cats_7356221671178" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>

RE: Foster care for cats los angeles I need your help ...

I got this answer from my friend this morning:
No, I'm not really affiliated with these types of folks anymore. There are boarding facilities though, and he should hit up rescue groups. If he's allergic it's not too hard to isolate the cats in one room of the house, like a guest bedroom, for only a month or so.

Every group may have different rules...I don't know but it would not hurt to ask. I also think the idea of keeping them in a confined area is good. You should do fine with them at a distance and it would be less stressful for the cats too, not being taken to the HS or put into another unfamiliar place. Good luck with this. I know it's difficult but it won't be forever.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>Jane</foaf:name><foaf:gender>female</foaf:gender><yedda:age>62</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/8628765851117/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/resources/00000018105/8cb5c681c7eb30a.jpg" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>answer</yedda:type><yedda:thread previous="http://yedda.com/questions/cats_7356221671178/Jane_nbsp_rescue_groups_cats_504178473873598" /><yedda:rating>3.0</yedda:rating></yedda:post>
