I see your dilema... and maybe you answered your own question while asking... if you are in a position with less authority but are preforming on a higher level (extra hrs... advice...) maybe your being passed up for a couple of reasons... why would a boss pay you more for a higher position when thay can pay you what you're getting now with no extra charge? then there is the question of control... maybe they feel if you were given more control you would cause problems with the extra authority given to you... you do seem ambitious but how are your ppl skills? do you believe you are a person others would want to work under? Or are you an over achiever and maybe a perfectionist... sometimes its not what you do or say... it's the way you are doing and saying it?
