Even if this was to happen (and I never see it becoming a reality), there is no Arab county that has ever indicated its willingness to take in those wanting to leave Gaza. There is so much blame to go around and all the countries in the Middle East are part of this tragic situation. Prove me wrong.

Seeing as how Hamas uses humans as shields and uses schools and mosques and even the U.N. to fire rockets at Israel, I don't see them doing anything but getting all the Palestinians killed.

Jerusalem --- January 15, 2009...... Hamas has again used children, the UN and the press as human shields in Gaza.
Hamas fired several rounds of mortar rockets at Israel Defense Forces from within and around the United Nations headquarters building in Gaza. The IDF responded with artillery fire killing several Hamas terrorists and wounding several civilians who they were hiding behind.
The UN compound and a nearby warehouse were set on fire.
Israel Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said the IDF had fired in self defense at the U.N. compound after Hamas terrorists opened fire from the location.
"It is absolutely true that the IDF was attacked from that place, but the consequences are very sad and we apologize for it," he said. "I don't think it should have happened and I'm very sorry."
A senior Israel IDF officer had also said that Israel hit the compound after coming under fire from Palestinian terrorists.
In fierce fighting taking place today, Hamas officials confirmed that an Israel airstrike killed the Hamas interior minister, who oversaw thousands of security agents in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF confirmed the airstrike. Hamas television said that Hamas Interior Minister Said Siam was killed in a strike that flattened a home in Gaza City. A top aide, Siam's brother and his brother's family were also killed.
Siam is considered to be among Hamas' top five leaders in Gaza.
One IDF officer told Sky News: "Hamas will most likely claim victory after this operation is over, but they know that we know that they have a problem."
Iran has threatened to stop all aid and weapons to Hamas if they stop fighting. Hamas has responded by speaking with Egypt hoping that they could arrange a cease-fire before more Hamas leadership dies in fighting.

Thanks for your thoughts. I was thinking that a non Arab country might take the civilian population..like Iran or Cuba or even the USA. Jordan has millions of Palestinians and so does Lebanon. Sharon removed some 200k in his time. Israel could offer safe passage to any that surrender. The UN could broker it and save a great deal of money and loss of life. Perhaps Egypt could let them accross the border ang give them a bit of the Sinnai.? Yes all sides are intransigent..Just a thought!

JERUSALEM, Feb 1 (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert threatened on Sunday a "disproportionate response" to the continued firing of rockets into Israel from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

There have been sporadic rocket attacks by militants on southern Israeli communities and several Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip since a truce came into effect on Jan. 18 following a 22-day Israeli offensive in the territory.

At least two rockets struck southern Israel on Sunday, causing no damage or casualties. A wing of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a group belonging to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction, claimed responsibility.

"The government's position was from the outset that if there is shooting at the residents of the south, there will be a harsh Israeli response that will be disproportionate," Olmert said at the weekly cabinet meeting after the latest rocket salvo.

"We will act according to new rules which will ensure that we will not be drawn into a war of incessant shooting on the southern border, which would deprive the residents of the south of a normal life," he said, without elaborating.

During the first few days of the war, online discussions were restricted to war of words. Both sides engaged in heated debates and blamed each other for the fatal surge in military operations.

Along with expressing solidarity with the Hamas casualties in Gaza, PA, PLO and Fatah officials criticize Hamas for its contribution to the escalation that led to the Israeli attack. They blamed Hamas for not listening to the call to prolong thetahdiah, for not preparing properly for the possibility that Israel would attack, and for combining its government functions with its resistance activity, which made it vulnerable to an attack on its institutions. Hamas, for its part, accused the PLO and Fatah of collaborating with Israel.

UPDATE: Henrietta Hughes says she's not milking the system...

However, a local organization is coming forward saying Hughes isn't being honest about how much help she's had in the past.

The director of We Care Outreach Ministry, Tanya Johnson, says just last month she offered Henrietta Hughes permanent housing and a place to stay free for three months, but Hughes refused.

"We would have allowed her to stay for the first 90 days, no income. You know free," said Tanya Johnson.

We Care Outreach Ministry is a faith based organization in Fort Myers.

Johnson says she also gave Henrietta and her son Corey, money, food and offered Corey job training courses, but it was refused.

"We have extended a lot of her services to her," Johnson said.
