Would you listen to him or ignore him - why or why not

This owner of the thrift store has a habit of telling me when a shipment is going to come in only to find out that he is wrong and it comes in the day before he tells me it will be in. In other words if he tells me a shipment will arrive on Saturday it arrives on Friday.

He is telling me a major shipment will be here this Saturday and I should not tell any one so I can get a jump on it.

But in the past I have been in the store the day before the shipment is to arrive and see the shipment there

I would go in the day before he says so as you have learned to expect. In addition to clothes be sure to check out the jewelry. Costume jewelry with the pretty rhinestones is very collectable. Have fun!

LR is correct. Listen to the dude. Go in a day or two early.

Think of this as a Pentacostal experience; he is speaking in tongues. You must interpret. (Note to the Pentacostals- I believe that speaking in tongues exists today; that it did not cease with the end of the Apostolic Age.)

I agree with Jay. Take your lawn chair and a cooler and camp out on the sidewalk a week early to make sure you're there when the new shipment comes in. It's the best thing you could do for yourself and the manager. He sounds like a doll to give you a heads-up on when to expect the new shipment. Listen to him at all costs.
