(It's dark green now). The current paint seems somehow fused with the metal, like the paint on a car. I don't want it to look hideous, and it might if the paint doesn't adhere well.</p> <p>My purpose would be to keep the house cooler. We get shade from about 6:00 on. I also would want to make sure white is not a bad color for a roof. Jennifer has a good point about mildew. You can put a small amount in a out of the way place to see if it will stick.
