Marked Reed & Barton, circa 1873 In the Viking taste, comprising: coffee pot, teapot, cream jug, covered sugar bowl, and waste bowl, each raised on four feet, the bodies engraved with Nordic designs centering an engraving of a Viking long boat, the angular loop handle with psuedo cuneiform script, the covers surmounted by seated lions. The coffee pot 11in. (28cm.) high. (5) NOTES The design for this teapot is illustrated in American Silverplate, Dorothy and Ivan Rainwater, 1988, p. 109. The designer George Gill incorporated an eclectic mix of styles into his works. The original price of a six piece tea and coffee service was $60.00 in 1877. A silver-plated soup tureen currently in the Dallas Museum of Art, which matches this tea service in form and style is shown in Charles Venable, Silver in America, 1994, fig. 6.57.

<foaf:maker><foaf:Person><foaf:name>peanut715</foaf:name><yedda:age>54</yedda:age><foaf:homepage rdf:resource="http://yedda.com/people/273793638317552/?src=rss:qb:ap" /><foaf:img rdf:resource="http://static1.yeddacdn.com/images/defaultUserIcon_rmt9c1d22d.gif" /></foaf:Person></foaf:maker><yedda:post><yedda:type>question</yedda:type></yedda:post>

RE: Vintage reed and barton silverplate any body know ...

Greetings Peanut: The silverplates value has many factors, always utilize a professional appraiser for insurance purposes and enlist professional help if ever you plan on selling. This isn't truly "vintage" as most would define it, but if you search AOL you will find links for sales everywhere.

Here is a link of one selling for $10.00 or best offer, 10.5 inches diameter, 1 inch height.....http://portland.olx.com/vintage-reed-barton-silver-plate-tray-stamped-large-iid-9186463

This link was just one of a series of them listed for sale. I know nothing about the party listing this whatsoever, but hopefully this helps some with your question.

Happy Monday!
