Why do this with a puppy? Since I was a little kid, or around college age, my goal was to do that with other musicians or with my violin students and cross genes between the Jellyfish and humans so their babies could glow in the dark and it would cut down on the need for stand lamps. We could have one orchestra that glowed purple in the dark, one orchestra that glowed red in the dark, one that glowed pink....people would have to glow a certain color to be in each orchestra. This would greatly save energy and cut down on the amount of electricity the orchestras had to pay for by replacing those standlamps this way. Also they'd be artistic in more ways than one! And you'd never have to worry about lightbulbs burning out to soon. Every musician would glow for life!

Now how many puppies play in a symphony orchestra or a pops orchestra? And the basset horn/hound section doesn't qualify. So let's start doing this with humans. As soon as possible before the electric bills get to high. I'd love to even just have a glowing stand partner. By now I have most of the symphonies memorized anyhow.

The real question is should the conductor glow too? or not? and what colors (if any)?

I think it's a waste of resources entirely to clone anything. This earth is overpopulated with stray animals and bad people. We shouldn't be bringing more to the earth until we start figuring out what to do to better ourselves.

Yes you have a good point. I agree. The real problem is that it has already been figured out how to make peace in the world and to make people healthier minded, and better people. I've even posted suggestions based on what I've read. But that would mean people would have to change their life styles slightly, and if I ever suggest those changes on line I only get comments to mind my own business for they have the right to lead their lives however they want. Therefore very few people are presently willing to make those changes and humans will probably go mostly, if not entirely, extinct sometime soon. Figuring out how to make this a peaceful world just takes a little common sense based on the research I've done. It would be easy. Also right now everyone's main desire is just to make lots of money, regardless of whether it is good for our planet or not. So heck while I agree cloning anything is a waste of money, well so is a large percent of what most people do these days, so if it would make people happy for the last few years before global warming drives us extinct, heck, why not.... or will it be nuclear wars that drive us extinct....well probably one of the two. Or maybe the return of the dinosaurs? Humans are getting pretty big these days..... maybe soon their necks may start to grow, and their teeth may start to grow even faster. That boy Timothy Smith down the street may soon become known a Tyrannosaurus Rex instead.

If you're really interested in living a healthy life and having a peaceful planet to live on you should check out a couple web sites, that show their approach to this is through the macrobiotic diet. Everyone is slightly different so their diets may vary slightly depending on the who they are and the climate they live in. My grandmother got cancer in the mid 1970's and got the normal chemotherapy and radiation. But new cancer cells would always reappear in her body within a short time and then she'd just have to get the expensive and painful treatment all over again. Finally the doctors told her she'd be dead in 6 months and that there was nothing that they could do. they put her on a healthy diet and had her getting exercise every day, and low and behold, in 6 months she had every cancer cell in her body disappear and she never had cancer the rest of her life. It had far more success than the western medicine approach. This diet I tried myself for some neurological trouble I was having and while I didn't have quite the same success with those troubles, but it kept me so healthy in every other way I couldn't believe it, I almost never got colds or any sickness,so I have stuck to the diet ever since then. I've never seen a family doctor since sometime around 1975, and I feel the diet has kept me very healthy. Finally a cyst was found in my brain and an operation removed that. But the diet I've kept very strict with for over 30 years. It helped a fellow musician I know recover from asthma by at least 95%, far more than any medical doctor's treatments had ever cured it, and I have found that if ever I start to catch a cold from some student of mine(which rarely ever happens) I recover very quickly from the cold with the treatments I give myself using certain foods to help myself recover and by just keeping my immune system strong. Supposedly with the diets most people eat today mostly meat dairy and sugar make us very aggressive and more likely to fight wars and never want to give in regardless of the fact that according to the bible we must "prepare table in the presence of our enemies, thou anointest my head with oil and my cup runneth over" to me that says we should be surrendering to all our enemies and making peace with them, not fighting them. Now I don't know if that will be possible till the whole world eats a healthier diet and can surrender to each other. But basically the diet we need to eat is one with out much meat(if any), without dairy and without sugar, and without a few other things too that everyone these days just loves to eat. We must give up fast food places, for their food is horrible to our health. When we eat food from animals that have been tortured(like they all are just before and as they're being killed)well we all are what we eat, and we end up torturing others and killing others. Books by Michio Kushi, George oshawa and others expain it very well. Also Will Tuttle PhD wrote a great book "the World Peace Diet" where he came up with pretty similar conclusions. When we can eat organically grown foods and base our diets on mostly grains , legumes, veggies, and fruit with some nuts seeds and sea vegetables, and maybe a little amount of the easiest meat to digest(like fish if we want it, but only for a very small amount of our diet) then we will be healthier, our immune system won't be greatly weakened by lactose and the ingredients in soft drinks, and we'll be able to fight off most diseases by ourselves with no need to see doctors. What we'd probably have to see doctors for would be more for accidents or broken bones, or for things that required surgery. This would greatly lower the need for our very active medical programs that we presently have for then we could be our own doctors most of the time. It took me being on the diet for a while before I really started to understand it better. But now I strongly believe in the whole philosophy on how to take care of ourselves and be our own doctors. I have also read that to feed the entire world on red meat would be impossible. It would require to much land and to much H20. So we really have to find other diets we can live on that don't require so much land to supply food for the world population we have today. We must be careful that we get all the proper nutrition we need when we go on this diet, but I didn't find it hard at all. It does take great discipline today to stay on a diet like this with all the temptations we get every day. We have to reject offers from friends and bring our own foods along with us most of the time so most people find it very hard to stick to. For me I've strongly believed in it and I've stuck to it very happily for over 3 decades. I started it in 1978. Good Luck.

jlitvlnvla, You know your Grandmother did not have to suffer from cancer the Government has known a cure all along my Godmother to died from cancer. And you know what bothered me was the fact that while she was sick from cancer that I found out that the Government had a cure all a long but they will not give it to us. If it was a member of their family they would have gave it to them. I sign a lot of petitions at Care2 and one of the petitions i signed was for the government to to give up the cure so people that have cancer can get cured. do you want to know why they will not give thecure to the American people it is all about money. The pill manufactures amke more money on chemo therapy than they would if they used the cure. But you know whats messed up is they will use it for their own family or those in congress. Which leads me to believe that they would save their own lives then to save a dyeing baby. How selfish can the Government be but I can not wait until judgement day until God asks them why would you let people die just to make money. I hate to say it but I do not like our government. And you want to know another lie that we were told The Federal Reserve is run by a private European Bank. They control our Gold and they charge us to make our money and then they lend us our own money and they charge us high interest to the Federal Reserve has never been Audited by our Government. They caused the debt we are in now they like keeping us(America) in debt they have us where they want us. The American money they charge us doesn't even go back into our Country it goes to their Country, that is another reason we do not have enough money. The President and everyone in Congress are actually Puppets for the Federal reserves They do waht they say, and the Federal reserve is the one runing this Country. So can you see why I'm upset about it the war we had to free ourselves from british rule is a lie.

Might I suggest a black light for the conductor. He would make everything else glow or at the least be the focal point. I have many lights I use for stage while certainly not on an orcestral stage, stage IS the optimum word. I use black lights quite often and have since the 70's. Orcestra would be etheral if cloned lightly and rightly. I don't think the effect would be the same in an afternoon performance so they would have to be great musicians too. Hats off to memorizing enire symphonies I have a heck of a time doing a Joe Satriani lead solo.

I do like the way you think: the possibilities are endless. However, there is one basic flaw in your concepts ( but not one that will make a difference in the execution). You are assuming that things like lightbulbs, glowing puppies, standlamps, and probably even the Sun, emit light: they do not : they ABSORB DARKNESS. Though the effect SEEMS the same within small areas, it is not - if something GAVE OFF LIGHT, then it would continue to illuminate things outwardly from the source to infinity at a speed of , well, light UNLESS it encountered an object - knowing this, even a tiny light (such as a glowing musician) would light up the universe unless you could turn him off or rolled him in mayonnaise and RIce Crispies or something similar to cover him up. THEREFORE, it is obvious that instead, DARKNESS IS ABSORBED. This theory would also account for the limited illumination of say a single candle or puppy since it could , obviously, absorb only a limited amount of darkness due to it's size (even Rolaids can only absorb 47 times it's own weight).

Now, as to the conductor: it is well known that the musicians ignore the conductor during a performance and his purpose is simply to entertain the audience. If said conductor could be cloned with a firefly, he could be engineered to STROBE in time with the music, making his entertainment value much greater, not to mention treating the stoned members of both the audience and orchestra to some dynamite traces.

Well Ted Kennedy has cancer in his brain right now. They seem to be giving him the same treatments they give most people...the chemotherapy and radiation. Maybe they give him more too, I"m not all that certain what they've done to him. But he never responded when i suggested that he try the method that cured my grandmother in an email letter I sent him.

And what really perplexes me is , yes you are absolutely correct, curing people by having them do exercise and eat a healthy diet won't make much money. The treatments that don't work so well, like Chemotherapy and radiation, use very expensive machinery, make lots of money and since they don't really cure the cause of the problem, can be used over and over again by making patients return many times till they die, and this makes much more money. But if people can realize this, like you and me, why does most of our society fall for these tricks and refuse to try the methods that really work and that are much cheaper, like what my grandma did?

Acknowledged..however and you make a good point. When you take a picture of any good lighting on a stage or my basement on a jam night with all us middle aged rockers invariably the white light looks kind of that blue or purple that a black light emits. Unless of course you point the lens directly at the light. Also when you have a blue and white light flashing simultanious you get that black and white look everywhere that never ceases to delight even the most hardened vet of the jam or audience. Always in every picture the black light will invariably will show through every thing else. I like them in front or behind the drums...or both Strob cannons accentuate a nice sight here. Musicians of all styles do indeed ignore everything exept the music so I stand by the black light absorbing or un. It will conduct the eyes of the audience conciously or un. Love the reply!!!
